Your hosts Ali & Mal
click image to enlargePassionate about Tutukaka Coast, five years ago we decided to buy a property that could be used to provide accommodation for divers and visitors to the Tutukaka area.
The building was already converted into three units and the property at Kowharewa Bay was the perfect choice for visitors who want privacy and space away from the crowds.
The lodge is now a popular base for divers and a variety of visitors to Tutukaka from all over the world who enjoy the standard of accommodation and friendly atmosphere.
Mal has lived, surfed and fished the Tutukaka Coast for over 30 years. His nickname Malibu comes from the style of surfboard he rides and is renowned for Malibu Mal's Surf Report each weekend on local radio.
Ali's earliest memories of the Tutukaka Coast was camping at Woolleys Bay and later boating up and down the coast with her parents in the Christmas holidays.
Running the lodge is a lifestyle choice we feel privileged to have, sharing it even more special.
The name Malibu Mal's combines the names Ali & Mal.
